LONDON—April 22, 2024— Crestline Investors (“Crestline”), a global alternative investment manager, and Dynamite Songs, an independent music rights venture founded by industry veteran Alan Wallis and other partners, have announced a strategic alliance to buy and build a diversified portfolio of music copyright assets.
Led by Crestline’s European Capital Solutions team, this transaction marks the second collaboration between the two groups, with Crestline having previously served as the strategic capital partner in the initial launch and ramp of Mojo Music & Media. Following a successful sale of the Mojo catalogue to Concord Music in late 2023, Alan and colleagues Sophie Brown and Tom Donovan (Mojo colleagues), along with Peter Thomas (former Carlin Music), launched music-royalties platform, Dynamite Songs, with the support of the Crestline Europe team.
“We are thrilled to bring the band back together again,” said Chris Marchak, Director at Crestline. “Alan and his team are truly best-in-class, and we are delighted to back their efforts to aggregate a portfolio of well-established music copyright assets, expertly managed under the Dynamite name.”
“In our five years of partnership with the Crestline team, we have seen firsthand their ability to serve as a long-term strategic ally. Their creative sensibilities and flexible capital make them invaluable supporters of our growth strategies in the music royalty space,” said Alan.
